Mobile culture in Japan and Denmark

Martin BrynskovResearcher Martin BrynskovMartin Brynskov, Digital Urban Living, has been interviewed in national television and radio, the programs “Horisont” on DR and “P1 Horisont“. Martins talks about the Japanese populations use of mobile phones and relates their usage to how danes will use phones in the near future.

Student Design Urban Expo 09
Botanisk After DarkThe students of Digital DesignDigital Design will present their exciting projects. Digital Design combines IT and aesthetics and is co-taught by Information Studies and Aesthetic Studies at Aarhus University. The exhibition is open to the public. Leading up the the expo was an event at the Botanical Gardensevent at the Botanical Gardens in Aarhus. Martin Zerlang: Funscapes

Martin ZerlangI følge en klassisk definition er byen kendetegnet ved sin størrelse, sin tæthed og sin variation. Kombinationen af disse kendetegn fører til en anden klassisk definition: at byen er et mødested for fremmede. Møderne har altid givet anledning til en dobbelthed af frygt og forventning, men i den moderne byudvikling har dobbeltheden spaltet sig ud i hvad man kunne kalde fearscapes og funscapes. På det ene side lukker man sig inde i "gated communities" og andre selvvalgte ghettoer. På den anden side søger man ud i et oplevelseslandskab, som er søgt indkredset gennem ord som "disneyfication" og tivolisering. Forelæsningens emne er dette oplevelseslandskab.

Martin Zerlang er professor i litteraturvidenskab og moderne kultur ved Institut for Kunst og Kulturvidenskab ved Københavns Universitet.
